Some Deals and Tips!!

How do you like this one...... I had a coupon for $.50 off 10 packs of Koolaid...and I also had a buy 10 packs of Koolaid and get $2.00 in sugar...Kroger had Koolaid on sale for 10/$1...so I got 10 pks of Koolaid and 2lbs of sugar for FREE!!! I also had a $.55 /10Q that Kroger had sent me for Koolaid and since I had another of the $2.00 off sugar...I did the deal twice!!!

Budweiser had a rebate for $15 off seafood or steak when you buy a 12 pcks of Bud. So we bought beer for $9.99 and got 2 pks of jumbo shrimp ($7.99 each) and will get back $15.00!!

I also want to make mention of E-coupons. P&G, Shortcuts and CellFire all work with Kroger!! ShortCuts gave me $2.50 off when I bought Pedigree Dental Treats for our dog...I also had a $1.50 Q for this same item...the item was on sale for $3.49....Yes, you did do the math right...they paid me $.51 to bring it home!!

2 more thoughts. 1, MAKE FRIENDS WITH YOUR CASHIERS!!!! I can't stress that enough!!! It will make your couponing experiance more fun..and it gives the cashiers a higher level of comfort when they know you are not trying to scam them!! 2, Read your coupons carefully! If the coupon states "good on any package of Widget" that means ANY...even a sample size!! I had some $1 Q's for Tide. For me...Tide is just to pricey...but, I am willing to get FREE one load size.

Random thoughts...

Today has just been sad for me. You see...I grew up listening to Michael Jackson. In many ways his songs had become a sound track for my life. I remember feeling lonely as a kid, when the song "Ben" would play on the radio...I felt like someone else understood. I turned 21 in 1983. Yes, I went to discos!! You bet we all listened and danced to Thriller!! Am I a huge fan? No, not really...but so much of my life is tied to his music. I pray that Mr. Jackson has found the peace that eluded him in this life.

On a somewhat happier train of thought. I sent a quick email to a couple of ladies in a near by city that have started a weekly column in our news paper. Of course it is a column on couponing!! Well, I was hopeful that they could spread the word further than I that there is a real need at that animal shelter in TX...they wrote me back today...and they have put the word out on their Twitter page!!! Good Work CheapBlondes!!!

CVS This week 6-21

The big news out there is that SoyJoy bars are buy 4/$4 and get a $4 ecb...and you can do this 5 times!!! If you go to HotCouponWorld and check the coupon database...there is a printable out there for buy 5 get $1 off...so...print 4 (yes you would need 2 computers or a friend for this, as it will only let you print 2) and then , viola!!! you have made $4!!! (in ECB's that you can use to buy more fun CVS stuff!!)

Also good is the Thermacare Heat Wraps. It is on buy 1 for $2.49 get a $2.49 ECB!! In the RP insert on 4/19 there is a $1 off Q...you can do this deal 2 times....You make $2.00!!


I also heard that True North nut snacks have a Try Me Free packaging!! Haven't seen it for myself, but I have a $1 Q for it...making it a money maker if I can find it!!

Honesty time here.....CVS has been stressing me out!!! It takes so much time to figure out stratagies. I do have my own CVS deal calculator...but it is a pain in the behind when you can't find all the things you are looking for for "mega-deals" So, what has been working better for me latey is to do some smaller deals! This weekend here is what I got:

It never hurts to ask....

6 months ago Jim opened a bag of Three River's CornMeal Mix...and ewwwww there were what look looked like clumps of dirt in the bag. I called customer service and they kindly sent me 2 FREE coupons for replacement bags. Well...low and behold we didn't use them fast enough..and Three Rivers got sold to Pillsbury.....I decided that I really wanted my replacement, so I sent them my now useless Q and they replaced it!!! It never hurts to ask!!!

What a wonderful day!!!

Sometimes I believe that God just likes to smile upon us!! Today has been my day. I am coming to you live from my new laptop with HIGHSPEED wireless connection!!! woooohoooo!!!

Jim and I went to a pottery festival today in Townsend. Way fun and got a wonderful t-shirt. Got new ink for printing lots-o-coupons!! Was greeted in CVS like a rockstar!! I love LOVE shopping at the Alcoa TN CVS!!! Got 4 cans of Campbell Soup for FREE using IP coupons with deals. Used a CRT for $5 off any 24/7 skincare, got some more of the great scrub for only $4.99, also got 2 boxes of Post Trail Mix Crunch using a raincheck (from 2 weeks ago) and 2 $2.00 IP Q's ....my total after using a $4.00 ecb was less than $3.00!!!

Found some of the True Orange at Kroger for clearance price of $1.49!! After using some peelies that were on the boxes...they were $.49 OOP!!

Got to spend my day laughing with my dear husband and calling my beloved daughter...life doesn't get much better!!!

Could you all do me a quick favor??? I heard on the radio this morning a short story about Sgt. Daniel Thornhill who was injured in Afghanistan a while back. He was injured in a random bombing and has lost both his legs and is now in therapy at Fort Sam Henry Fisher House in Houston Texas. He is paralyzed form the waist down and even with the use of prosthetics the doctors are not optimistic about him ever being able to walk again. His parents have traveled to Texas to be with him and have asked for support, but not in the way you would expect. His birthday is coming up and his parents have asked for as many birthday cards for their son as can be sent. No money or financial assistance, just birthday cards!!!! We are making ours tonight and will be sending it out in the morning. I am hoping you all could do the same and then forward this email on to your friends and family who would also send a card. Thanks and I am sure each and every card will be greatly appreciated.
